The fastest lap in Formula One history

Juan Pablo Montoya sets the fastest lap in Formula 1 history during pre-qualifying for the 2004 Italian Grand Prix.

Driving for Williams, the Colombian lapped Monza at an average speed of 262.242kmh / 162.9mph.

One of the most exciting drivers of his era, Montoya won seven times in Formula 1 between 2001 and 2006 while driving for Williams and McLaren.

The 2005 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One race, held on September 4, 2005 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza circuit. Fifteenth race of the 2005 Formula One season, it was the event in which Juan Pablo Montoya achieved the fastest ever speed recorded during a F1 race, 372.6 km/h (231.5 mph).
