You wait ages for an F1 movie and then they all come at once. The latest is this, 33 days, a movie about Niki Lauda. Another one? Well yes, but this one’s a documentary and rather than focussing on the rivalry with James Hunt, like in Rush, this film looks at Lauda’s miraculous comeback in Monza, 33 days after he leaving hospital following his firey crash at the Nurburgring.

Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo has compared his incredible day job to that of a Royal Australian Air Force Pilot today with a run around at a regional Air Force Base.

With the 2014 Formula 1 Rolex Australia Grand Prix hitting the streets of Melbourne this weekend, Ricciardo and F/A-18 Hornet pilot, FLTLT Michael Keightley got the adrenaline pumping with an occupation comparison of larger-than-life proportions. It can be argued that both have two of the best careers in the world. Although they have different crafts, they push themselves beyond what’s possible on a daily basis.

“The craziest part was looking in my mirrors and seeing a Hornet – I’m just used to other Formula 1 car behind me,” Daniel Ricciardo said.

“It was very surreal. I definitely felt the pure power of the Hornet and as it passed me I was just hoping that it wasn’t going to blow me off the track. It make what I do seems low level compared to that!

“I can’t wait to get on track now. Having a home race is awesome, Albert Park is one of my top five favourite circuits.”

Kamui Kobayashi back in F1 with Caterham seat!

Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson have been confirmed as Caterham’s race drivers for 2014, heralding an all-new line-up for the new season.

Kamui Kobayashi : “It’s a great feeling to be back as an F1 race driver and I’m really pleased it’s with Caterham. Throughout all our discussions I’ve been very impressed with where they want to take the team, and how much investment has been made already to help them achieve their goals. I first visited the factory in Leafield just before Christmas and it’s clear how hungry the whole team is to make progress. From what I’ve seen, Caterham now has everything in place to progress this year and for many seasons to come.”
